Hi all!
Just bought the Omen 35l with the Ryzen 8700F CPU.
I thought the specific model I bought would be with aio, but it has the air cooler on the CPU.
I'm a bit concerned on temps. I idle around 80c and easy go to 90-95c under max load (CPU tests), fan starts revving up when temp goes above 90.
My last build, which was custom build, I had a pretty good aio on it and cpu never really came any close these temps.
So my questions:
1. is these temps abnormal?
2. those of you having similar spec, what's your temps?
3. anybody knows when the aio omen upgrade is available?

Greetings @010010000100
Welcome to the HP Forum.
I don't have a 35L PC. I do build PCs and have years of experience using AMD Ryzen CPUs.
I would say the CPU temps you are seeing are not normal for a 65 watt TDP 8700F.
I just did a 65 watt TDP Ryzen 7600 build. The CPU barely breaks 72 degrees C when running Prime 95 for an hour.
The CPU thermal paste application may not be good or the CPU air cooler has a problem. Is the CPU cooler firmly mounted to the MB?
HP would not do an AIO liquid cooler upgrade. You would have to do this or have a local PC tech take a look.
Your best option would be to do an exchange or refund ASAP. Or you could reapply CPU thermal paste to see if this helps.

Yeah that’s my concern.
Just unpacked it yesterday, so I’ll do a check.
The retailer I bought it from does have a 30 day return policy, so might just return it to be on the safe side.
Thank you for your great answer!

Just circling back on this topic for anybody else coming across this thread.
The day after I started to get quite different metrics.
Idle temp 60-70c, load 82-83c.
I can't tell what really changed. But the last 3 days the temp have been stable as above..

Greetings @010010000100
That's good to hear.
It's anybody's guess as to what has happened to lower temps.
Keep an eye on temps as you use your new PC.
