OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 880-101na

I'm wanting to replace the motherboard on Omen 880-101na, I've removed the previous motherboard but I'm unsure as to how to get the IO shield off.

Hi @Swanko

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Some HP Desktop PCs have an integrated I/O shield, some have a friction fit shield.

A friction fit shield can be removed by applying force, use your fingers, to push the shield into the case. Or tap the shield with the butt of a screwdriver.

The new shield is friction fit by inserting the shield into the case opening from inside the case.

Make sure you correctly install the new I/O shield in the case or you will have a problem installing the new MB and connecting peripherals to the rear I/O. The shield should by uniformly installed in the opening (check all four corners) and watch for grounding straps if your I/O shield has them.

Hi Bill, thanks for the reply.

I've realised now that my case has an integrated IO shield so I'm now purchasing a new case. Either way thank you very much for the support.

Hi @Swanko

My pleasure.

Never worked with your PC's case. Was not expecting an Omen PC to use an integrated rear I/O shield.
