Hi,

I have HP Omen 25L  and I have ram clocking 3733 instaled  but my system is showing me 2400. How and where I can change that? I try to find in BIOS but can't find it. Try by Windows and still no option.

Can anyone have video or direct instruction setp by step where I can do it?

Hi @SebLowiki,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To change the clock frequency (speed) of your RAM, you'll need to access the BIOS/UEFI settings. Here's a general guide on how to do it.

Note: Overclocking your RAM can potentially cause instability and damage to your system if not done correctly. Proceed with caution, and make sure you understand the risks involved in overclocking.

  • Restart your computer: Save any open files and restart your HP Omen 25L.
  • Access BIOS/UEFI: During the boot process, press the appropriate key to access the BIOS or UEFI settings. The key to access BIOS/UEFI can vary depending on your motherboard and BIOS version. Common keys are F2, F10, Delete, or ESC. The correct key should be displayed on the boot screen or mentioned in your computer's manual.
  • Navigate to the Memory Settings: Once inside the BIOS/UEFI, use the arrow keys to navigate the menus. Look for an option related to memory settings, which might be labeled as "DRAM Configuration," "Advanced Memory Settings," or something similar.
  • Enable XMP: Some BIOS/UEFI setups will have an XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) option that allows you to easily set the RAM to its advertised speed. XMP is a pre-configured overclocking profile provided by RAM manufacturers. Enable the XMP profile that matches your RAM's rated speed.
  • Manual overclocking (optional): If your BIOS/UEFI does not have an XMP option or if you want to manually adjust the RAM frequency, you may need to adjust the "DRAM Frequency" or "Memory Clock" setting. Keep in mind that manually overclocking requires careful tweaking of several settings, including timings and voltages. If you're not experienced with overclocking, it's best to stick with the XMP profile.
  • Save and Exit: After making the changes, save the settings and exit the BIOS/UEFI. Your computer will reboot with the new RAM settings.
  • Stability testing: After changing the RAM frequency, it's essential to test the stability of your system. Run stress tests or memory testing utilities to ensure that the overclocked RAM is functioning correctly without causing crashes or errors.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
