OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-1055xt
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an unknown startup app called "Program" which links to the following command line:

"C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\AD2F1837.OMENCommandCenter_9.4.7.0_x64__v10z8vjag6ke6\win32\Streamer\omen.exe app_silent=1".

I have currently disabled this startup app, but I believe it is an error and would like to remove the offending app/fragment/process/file. I've seen recommendations to edit the registry, but haven't gone that route yet.

I saw another post on this subject (which for some reason I couldn't reply to) and the solution was to uninstall/restart/re-install Omen Command Center. I've done this and the startup entry is still present.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Right-click on an empty area on the Taskbar and select Task Manager. Step 2 When Task Manager comes up, click the Startup tab and look through the list of programs that are enabled to run during startup. Then to stop them from running, right-click the program and select Disable
  • The Microsoft System Configuration (msconfig) tool is a Microsoft software application used to change configuration settings, such as which software opens with Windows. It contains several useful tabs: General, Boot, Services, Startup, and Tools. Opening MSConfig to troubleshoot software issues in Windows 10 and 8
  • In Windows, type MSConfig into Search, and then select System Configuration from the search results in Windows 10, or msconfig in Windows 8.
  • The System Configuration window opens.
