OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000i (1S3R6AV)

Hello everyone. I bought a new ram for several days ago and noticed that my ram works only at 2400 mhz, though the ram i had before worked on 3200 mhz. I thought that i must turn on xmp in my bios, but i couldn't find advanced settings there (where ram overclock usually is). I got latest update for my bios, f13, but nothing changed. How can i fix that issue?

@AntonMesser,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Looking at real-world HP OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1xxx Users here: UserBenchmark: HP OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1xxx Compatible Components.

There are some RAM examples that did get stuck at lower RAM speeds, such as:

Kingston HyperX DDR4 3200 C16 2x16GB at 2400 MHz
Corsair Vengeance CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 8GB at 2133 MHz
G.SKILL Ripjaws V F4-3200C16-8GVKB 8GB at 2133 MHz

This issue comes up all the time.  Some (mostly 'fancy') gaming RAM gets stuck at their SPD (default/preset) RAM speed and cannot run at higher RAM speeds because of lack of access to BIOS XMP settings.  That appears to be the case with your desktop.  It is not fixable. You'll have to pick RAM (see the benchmark link above) that runs at 3200 MHz and performs best.

If you want something other than HP-branded Kingston RAM, these RAM also perform A-OK:

Samsung M378A2G43AB3-CWE 16GB

Samsung M378A1G44AB0-CWE 8GB

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

To unlock advanced options and enable XMP on your Omen 30L, follow these steps:

  1. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup by pressing the appropriate key during boot (usually F10 or Del).

  2. Once in the BIOS setup, go to the Advanced tab.

  3. Look for an option called "Advanced Chipset Control" or "Advanced Memory Settings." Select this option.

  4. Look for an option called "XMP" or "DOCP" (depending on your motherboard and CPU). This option may be located in the "Memory" or "Overclocking" sub-menu.

  5. Enable XMP or DOCP by selecting the appropriate profile. The profile will typically correspond to the rated speed of your memory module.

  6. Save and exit the BIOS setup by pressing the appropriate key (usually F10).

  7. Once you have exited the BIOS setup, check to make sure that XMP has been enabled and that your memory is running at the rated speed. You can do this by checking your system information or by using a monitoring tool such as CPU-Z.

If you are having trouble finding the advanced options or XMP settings in your BIOS, you may want to consult your motherboard manual or contact the manufacturer's customer support for assistance.
