Microsoft Windows 11

I factory reset my HP OMEN gaming computer desktop and I no longer have access to internet and windows and start menu. When clicking settings it just closes automatically. When I factory reset it I did a local reinstall. Can you help me to get this back up and running? It's only  7 months old.

Hi @EE1985

So a local install sounds like you did not do a HP Cloud Recovery.

Look, I would contact HP Support since the PC seems to be in warranty if it is only seven months old.

The post recovery (factory reset) symptoms are very weird. It sounds like you have malware. What was happening to prompt a factory recovery?

Check your PC's hardware as follows:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F2". Run system and component tests.

If hardware tests look good then your PC has other problems which can't be diagnosed in a forum. Sounds like a strange hardware problem (HDD, SSD, or memory, or malware).

Regards

I called HP and they guided me to fix the problem. The problem was that my son didn't back up his files so it needed a recovery installed. They were awesome and helped me every step of the way!! They know their stuff.
