OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000a (207P6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

So most have problem with burning hot CPU, well i did to but with an undervolt its actually bearable and decent enough performnanc wise.

I on the other hand have issues with my GPU, it is throttling and reducing power and clocks already at 55º, when it has reached around 65º my core clocks is under 1400mhz. I have been testing around with fan curves and tried some undervolting, but nothing makes any real difference.

When i look in HWiNFO i can see that Memory junction temps are reaching 86º but thats after the throttling begins. But there is some other sensor thats called "GPU Hot Spot Temperature" that reaches 105º and it does so fast, in 5 seconds on a stresstest it reaches these values, and so the GPU clock and powerdraw drops significantly.

And then the computer holds everything there, at 65-69º GPU temp, clocks goes down to 1200 as most, usually hoovering around 1300-1400. And the hot spot is constantly at 105º.

I tried swapping cases and chugged in a **bleep**load of fans, but it only gives me a small increase in clocks.

Is there anything to do exept changing the cooling solution on the card or just RMA it all?

Hi@wessla,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing thermal throttling issues with the OMEN 30L Desktop PC CPU is getting hot.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your computer to latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.
  • If issue persist the it could be a hardware issue on the PC.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I actually Solved it. I opened the card and replaced the thermal pads and applied new paste. There was spots on the gpu without any at all and therefor insane temps. And the thermal pads was horribly bad. They was already after 3 weeks falling apart.

Now its running cool.
