HP X27q QHD Gaming Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought an HP X27 QHD Gaming Monitor 165Hz, everything was fine when it arrived except the first thing I noticed was that the cable was DisplayPort, and my Gaming Laptop is not compatible with DisplayPort. After I bought a new high-quality HDMI cable and plugged it in,  when I went to change the Hz of my monitor it wasn't allowing me to change it to more than 60Hz.

I tried downloading the monitor's software too but my operating system isn't on it, since I have Windows x64 21H2, which is not on the compatibility list.

I have heard that it might be because I need to use the DisplayPort cable, but that's impossible for me to do, are there any other solutions?

The normal rule is refresh rate goes up resolution will go down and vice versa. You can't get 165Hz on QHD using HDMI

I plugged my friend's laptop in to my monitor and to him the 165Hz where working just fine even with the HDMI cable I had, but for some reason it doesn't work for me.
