HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000i
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I  am writing you  to ask for a BIOS downgrade from the current version F.29 to the previous stable version F.27 Rev.A .

My desktop is the TG01-2127nl  (TG01.2000i) . Unfortunately the downgrade is locked and I  need a downgrade because my pc is not stable.

Please help me out.

Best regards,

Gian

Hi @Gian009,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To help me understand the situation better, could you please share a bit more information?

 Please let me know:

What’s the exact model of your HP laptop or desktop?

  1. What kind of instability are you experiencing random shutdowns, freezes, boot issues, or performance drops?
  2. Did the problems start immediately after installing BIOS version F.29?
  3. Have you already tried resetting BIOS settings to default?
  4. Are there any recent hardware changes or Windows updates that happened around the same time?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Reset BIOS to default settings: Enter BIOS → Load Setup Defaults → Save & Exit. Sometimes this fixes instability after an update.
  • Perform a CMOS reset: Power off the PC, unplug it, remove the CMOS battery for 5–10 minutes, then reinstall it. This can clear any corrupted BIOS configuration.
  • Check HP Support Assistant: Run a full scan to ensure all chipset, graphics, and system drivers are up to date.
  • Run hardware diagnostics: Use HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics to rule out memory or storage issues that might look like BIOS problems.
  • Check for additional firmware updates via HP Support Assistant Tool: Sometimes HP releases  chipset updates that stabilize systems after a BIOS upgrade.

Regarding the downgrade itself:

Many HP systems lock BIOS rollback for security reasons.

Once you let me know more about the instability symptoms and what you’ve tried so far, I can guide you, whether there may be another fix that avoids the risk of downgrading.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Hi,

I have a HP Desktop Pavilion  Gaming   Pc, TG01-2127nl.

1. Performance wise my gaming experience was better with the Bios F27 Rev A.  The gaming was better since the  boost clocks were more stable.

2. Yes, the performance dropped after flashing to F.29. Reinstalling Windows did not help.

3. Yes i did

4.  I ’ve not changed or added the hardware and no updates wer installed.

I’ ve tried all what you’ve written.
