I have this issue when I play games such as valorant and marvel rivals ask for me to update my drivers which I have. Yes I have done a ddu. Yes I'v contacted intel. Yes I'v contacted riot. I have tried to contact hp support but all it does is ask me for money so I can speak to someone. I don't know what to do everything is up to date and the computer is out of warranty.

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Thank you for reaching out -you're doing a lot of the right things already. Since you still have issues, here’s a deeper technical guide that can help specifically for Intel Arc GPUs like the A380, especially when Valorant and Marvel Rivals report driver problems:
Step 1 — Update GPU driver using Intel Arc Beta Driver:
(Not just the WHQL "stable" driver.)
Download the latest Beta driver from Intel here (scroll down on that page, you can find both Production (WHQL) drivers and the latest Beta drivers):
Intel Arc A380 Official Driver PageRun the installer and select "Clean Installation" when prompted.
Important: Beta drivers often fix new game issues faster than stable drivers for Arc cards.
Step 2 — Verify BIOS Settings (Secure Boot, TPM, UEFI):
Reboot and tap ESC → F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
Check:
Security tab → TPM Device → Enable TPM.
Boot Options tab → Enable Secure Boot.
Boot Mode → should be UEFI, not Legacy/CSM.
(Valorant anti-cheat often breaks if Legacy/CSM is enabled.)
Save changes and reboot.
Step 3 — Clean Valorant + Riot Vanguard Removal and Reinstall:
Uninstall Valorant completely.
Uninstall Riot Vanguard manually (from Programs and Features).
Reboot.
Delete any leftover Riot folders under:
C:\Program Files\Riot Vanguard
C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\Riot Games
Install Valorant again as Administrator (right-click installer → Run as Admin).
Step 4 — Fully Update Windows 11:
Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for Updates.
Install all pending updates, including Optional Updates → Driver updates.
(Arc cards sometimes depend on newer WDDM versions from Windows updates.)
Step 5 — Additional Optimizations:
Disable Fast Startup (this helps prevent driver loading problems):
Control Panel → Power Options → Choose what the power buttons do → Change settings → uncheck "Turn on fast startup".
Update your motherboard chipset drivers (from HP or directly from Intel).
Make sure HP BIOS is updated to the latest available version for your Victus 15L.
Optional: Try setting Valorant and Marvel Rivals to run in DX11 mode if possible (Arc cards sometimes handle DX11 games better with early drivers).
Quick Recap:
Install latest Arc Beta driver | 🔥Critical | Use Clean Install option |
Enable TPM, Secure Boot, UEFI | 🔥Critical | Required by Valorant anti-cheat |
Clean reinstall Riot Vanguard/Valorant | ✅Very helpful | Avoid corrupted anti-cheat detection |
Fully update Windows 11 | ✅Needed | Sometimes hidden GPU patches |
Disable Fast Startup | Optional but useful | Stability improvement |
Update BIOS/Chipset drivers | Optional but helpful | For better hardware compatibility |
P.S.:
You're absolutely right — out-of-warranty HP systems don't get free live tech support, but you're in the right place here on the HP Community. 👍
We’ll get you running!
Let me know how it goes -I am happy to guide you step-by-step if needed.
