@PiratePanda,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E2AV), according to: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=328J4AAR&searchby=product, is fitted with a 400-watt power supply (p/n: L69242-800), which is equipped with one 8-pin PCIe power cable -please verify, and (at least originally) was fitted with an HP-branded AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (p/n: L66151-001).

If you do have an RX 5500 XT fitted in your desktop, then a GTX 1650 wouldn't be a graphics upgrade (see: UserBenchmark: AMD RX 5500-XT vs Nvidia GTX 1650).

Yes, a GTX 1650 is certainly compatible with your desktop, but with your 400-watt power supply, you can upgrade up to an HP (or Dell-) branded RTX 3060 12GB (powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable), which you can purchase via eBay for around $230, such as this purchase example from a trusted Seller: HP M41998-002 GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 Graphics Card | eBay.

Hope this was helpful.

Thanks so much! I don’t really know much about computers but you just saved me from downgrading! I am now going to try to get the RTX 3060

Thanks so much!!

@PiratePanda,

You are most welcome!

Please verify that your power supply is a 400-watt unit with one 8-pin PCIe power cable as I mentioned, and stick with the HP (or Dell-) branded RTX 3060 12GB, like I used to upgrade an HP ProDesk 600 G4 MT: Solved: Upgrading to an HP ProDesk 600 G4 MT - HP Support Community - 8610054, and you'll have a wonderful gaming experience!
