HI,

I wondering if the CPU in this PC could be upgraded, with or without a motherboard swap. It's currently got an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz with system board # 84FD 00

@JCTEC2020 , welcome to the Community.

Your computer came with the fastest processor that has been fully tested to be compatible with the motherboard: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-obelisk-desktop-pc-875-0000a/23302709/model/23574497...

You will find this information in the section titled "Processor/Processor upgrade information".

HP has their motherboards made to their specifications.  Therefore, they are not necessarily the same as a retail board.  This means that using the case with a retail board may not work.  The two major concerns are the holes in the new motherboard matching the stand-offs in the case and the front connectors working with the new board.
