M2 NVME SSD

I just ordered an OMEN 25L Desktop GT11-0003no and it has a 512GB M2.NVME SSD preinstalled. My question is: Can I install another 1TB M2.NVME SSD, besides the one provided standard?  I would like to keep the 512GB one for windows and the other one that I want to add myself to use for games and other stuff.  Is there another connection type on this desktop identical to the one provided for the preinstalled 512GB M2.NVME SSD?

@Cipanu , welcome to the Community.

The Product Specifications state that there is "One M.2 socket 3, key M for SSD (PCIe Gen 3 x4)".  However, in the Motherboard Viewer it shows Item #22 is the second M.2, SSD slot (socket): http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06592761.pdf

You can check to see if it is on your motherboard.  If so, you will have to check to see if it is key M or key B+M.  Here is a guide to help you identify which Key it is and which M.2's can be installed in it: https://www.atpinc.com/blog/what-is-m.2-M-B-BM-key-socket-3

Hy. Thank you for your post. The problem is that I don't have the same motherboard as the one in the example from the links you gave to me. My motherboard has only 2 slots for RAM for example, meanwhile the one in the links has 4 slots.  I don not see any M2 port anywhere besides the one for the 512 GB NVME SSD preinstaled.

You are welcome, @Cipanu!  Thank you for the additional information.

The problem is that HP uses their motherboards in many different models with different configurations.  It appears that you only have one M.2 socket on your motherboard as stated in the specifications.  This means that you will have to use a standard SSD: https://www.newegg.com/samsung-1tb-870-evo-series/p/N82E16820147793?Description=870%20evo&cm_re=870_...

You will need a SATA data and SATA power cable to connect it.  The power connector will be on your PSU and the data cable will connect to an extra SATA port on your motherboard.

The EVO 870 in the link is very fast.  It will give you good system performance for games and whatever else you want to install on it.  I actually use a EVO 860 for my games.
