I am trying to upgrade the memory in my system. My TG01-0023W came with 1-8 GB stick that is DDR4 3200 MHz. Which shows in task bar as 3200 MHz.
I purchased 2-8 GB sticks Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 MHz. When installed they only show as 2133 MHz. I have tried installing ONE stick and it still only showed 2133 MHz.
Is there a way to get this memory to read at the advertised speed for the said sticks?
Could they be defected?
Is there another brand of memory that would work better than the Corsair, and show as its full advertised speed?

@wildcats198311 , welcome to the Community.
The validated speed for the memory in your computer is DDR-2666 MHz according to the "Memory" section of the Product Specifications: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-pc-tg01-0000a/37874510/model/3793389...
For the memory to run at DDR4-3200 MHz, HP has to add an Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) to the BIOS/UEFI.
The default or basic speed for DDR4 memory is 2133 MHz. If there is not an XMP in the BIOS/UEFI that recognizes your Corsair memory it will default to the basic speed. This is why you can't get it to run at 3200 MHz.
You should use CPU-Z to see the manufacturer and timings for the current 8 GB of memory: https://download.cnet.com/CPU-Z/3000-2086_4-10050423.html
This information is in the Tab titled "SPD". If you buy the same memory it may run at 3200 MHz.
