OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0380t CTO

I have a Omen 30L/3090 that recently had the memory die and I replaced them with Kingston Fury Beast KF3200C16D4/32GX. I have tried to set up the BIOS an XMP Profile and it doesn't seem to work. Its not running at 3200 MHz as it should, but 2400 MHz despite having the latest F24 BIOS. Any ideas?

@JRose38, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Configuring Kingston Fury Beast DDR4 Memory on OMEN 30L!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It appears that you are experiencing issues getting your new Kingston Fury Beast memory to run at its rated speed of 3200 MHz on your OMEN 30L with the latest BIOS. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Verify Installation:

  • Ensure that the memory modules are firmly seated in the DIMM slots. Sometimes improper seating can cause the system not to recognize the memory correctly.

Enable XMP Profile in BIOS:

  • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup by pressing the ESC key a few times during startup (when the OMEN logo appears).
  • Once in the BIOS, navigate to the “Advanced” settings tab.
  • Look for the XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) setting and make sure it is enabled. Sometimes it might be labeled under “Memory Overclocking” or similar.
  • Select the profile that corresponds to the 3200 MHz speed of your Kingston Fury Beast memory.

Set Memory Speed Manually:

  • If enabling XMP does not solve the issue, you can manually set the memory speed.
  • Within the BIOS, go to the memory settings or overclocking section.
  • Set the DRAM Frequency to 3200 MHz manually.

Check for Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the Kingston Fury Beast memory model KF3200C16D4/32GX is compatible with your system. Not all memory is always compatible with every motherboard, even if they are technically supported.
  • Consult the OMEN 30L’s manual or HP support documentation for compatible memory modules.

BIOS Update:

  • Although you mentioned that you have the latest F24 BIOS, it might be worth checking HP’s support site again for any new updates or hotfixes available for your specific issue. Sometimes beta BIOS versions are released to address such problems.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Zoey,
I have done all that. That's all the obvious stuff. I used these module's as @NonSequitur777 recommended them as possibility in an earlier post. I have set the XMP profile speed to 3200MHz and left the rest set to Auto (0) where I could. No matter that I set the value to it comes up 2400. I have checked that the BIOS is the latest but as an HP employee you should already know this.

Can you please provide the link to the motherboard compatibility? I looked around but couldn't find it.
