I am adding a new SSD to my HP OMEN 870-185na desktop and although there are spare power cables there are no spare data cables. My problem is that the existing data cables from the motherboard to HD and SSD have a separate earth at the device end screwed to the box. I cannot seem to source these cables on the web in the UK. How important is this earth and can I use a cable on the SATA III 'locking latch' to earth to my box for the same effect? Or does anyone know where I can get the correct cable?

All you need is SATA cable with angled connector, otherwise you will not be able to close the side panel properly. Don't worry about any earthing.
I got this chappy when I got my Omen as I had SATA data disk then.

Did the trick nicely.
