HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a prebuilt  Hp Pavilion gaming Desktop TGO1. I have added a SSD on the HDD rack. Now I wish to add another SSD. Is there a device that would allow me to do this, so I would have a boot drive C: and a 😧 and E: drive. Thanks

@lwill72, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Mount multiple SSDs!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To add another SSD to your HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2000a, you can use a secondary SSD bracket or adapter that fits into the available 3.5" or 2.5" drive bays within your PC case. Here are the steps and options to consider:

What You'll Need:

  1. Additional SSD Drive: Make sure to purchase an SSD with suitable capacity and specifications compatible with your system.
  2. 2.5" to 3.5" Drive Adapter/Bracket: This will help you to mount the additional SSD into your HDD rack if another slot is not available. Many adapters are available that can fit into any 3.5-inch bay or convert it to hold two 2.5-inch drives.

Installation Steps:

  1. Power Down and Unplug the Desktop: As a safety measure, ensure your computer is powered off and unplugged.
  2. Open the PC Case: Use a screwdriver if needed to open your case and locate the HDD rack.
  3. Mount the SSD: Using the adapter/bracket, mount your new SSD into an available drive bay. Secure it properly using screws.
  4. Connect the SSD: Use a SATA cable to connect the SSD to a SATA port on your motherboard. Also, connect the power supply cable to the SSD.
  5. Close the Case: Once securely connected, close the case back up.
  6. Boot Up: Plug back in and power on your PC. Your BIOS should identify the new SSD.

Software Configuration:

  1. Initialize the SSD: Go to Disk Management on Windows 11, locate your new SSD, and initialize it if required.
  2. Partition and Format: Create necessary partitions on SSD and format it.
  3. Verify Drives: Ensure your system recognizes the drives correctly as C: for boot, 😧 as your existing SSD, and E: as the new SSD.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
