Hi @Atif20,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I can imagine how frustrating it must be to experience lag in games, especially when you know your laptop should perform much better with the NVIDIA 3050. Let’s work together to fix this issue.

  • Are you able to see the NVIDIA 3050 listed in the Device Manager under Display Adapters, or does it show any errors or warning signs?
  • Have you checked your game settings to ensure the dedicated GPU is selected for rendering instead of the integrated Intel graphics?
  • Have you updated your NVIDIA drivers recently, and did the issue start after a specific update?

Let's try these steps.

Set NVIDIA 3050 as Default GPU

  • Open the NVIDIA Control Panel > Go to Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Set Preferred Graphics Processor to High-Performance NVIDIA Processor.
  • For specific games, go to Program Settings and select the NVIDIA GPU for the game.

Check Power Settings

  • Ensure your laptop is plugged in and set to High-Performance Mode in the Power Options (Control Panel > Power Options > High Performance). Integrated graphics are often prioritized on battery power to conserve energy.

Update or Reinstall NVIDIA Drivers

  • Go to the NVIDIA website and download the latest drivers for your GPU.
  • Perform a clean installation by selecting the option during the driver installation process.

Monitor GPU Usage in Task Manager

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) > Go to the Performance tab > Check the GPU usage while running a game.
  • If usage remains at 0%, verify that the game executable is assigned to the NVIDIA GPU via Graphics Settings in Windows (Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings).

Check for Hardware or Thermal Issues

  • Run the HP Diagnostics Tool to check the health of your NVIDIA GPU.
  • Ensure the laptop’s cooling system is working correctly, as thermal throttling can disable the GPU under high temperatures. Use compressed air to clean the vents if needed.

If the problem persists, the GPU may require servicing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
