Microsoft Windows 11

I'm experiencing an issue with my Omen Gaming Hub where the RGB lighting on my PC is not responding when I try to change the colors. I’ve made sure that everything is set correctly in the software, but the lights do not change as expected. This just happened after my PC updated a couple of days ago.

Hi @JJ508,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

If the RGB lighting on your Victus desktop isn't responding to changes made in the OMEN Gaming Hub after a recent update, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check for Updates in OMEN Gaming Hub

  • Open the OMEN Gaming Hub.
  • Go to Settings or look for an option to check for updates within the app.
  • Ensure the OMEN Gaming Hub is running the latest version.

2. Verify OMEN Light Studio

  • If your Victus desktop supports advanced lighting customization, ensure that OMEN Light Studio is installed (it’s an add-on for OMEN Gaming Hub).
  • Open OMEN Light Studio and check if the lighting can be adjusted there.

3. Restart the OMEN Gaming Hub Service

Sometimes, the background service controlling RGB lighting can stop working.

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
  • Look for any processes related to OMEN Gaming Hub or HP Omen Command Center.
  • Right-click and select End Task for all such processes.
  • Restart the OMEN Gaming Hub.

4. Reinstall the OMEN Gaming Hub

If the problem persists, reinstalling the application can resolve configuration issues:

  1. Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub:
    • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
    • Find and uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub.
  2. Download and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.
  3. Restart your PC after installation.

5. Check RGB Settings in BIOS

Ensure that the RGB lighting control is enabled in the BIOS:

  1. Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI by pressing F10 during boot (or the appropriate key for your model).
  2. Navigate to the Advanced Settings or Hardware Configuration section.
  3. Look for options related to RGB or lighting control and ensure they are enabled.
  4. Save changes and exit.

6. Reset RGB Settings

  1. Open the OMEN Gaming Hub.
  2. Navigate to the RGB/Lighting settings.
  3. Look for a Reset to Default or similar option.
  4. After resetting, try adjusting the colors again.

7. Reinstall or Roll Back Updates

If the issue began after a recent update:

  • Check if there is a firmware or driver update available for your PC or RGB controller through HP Support Assistant.
  • Alternatively, consider rolling back the recent update:
    1. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History.
    2. Select Uninstall Updates and remove the problematic update.

8. Perform a System Recovery

  • If none of the above works and this issue appeared recently, perform a system recovery to restore factory software configurations:
  • Open HP Recovery Manager and follow the prompts for recovery.

           OR

  • Please click on this link to perform a recovery on your Laptop.  (Take a backup of the data before performing a recovery)

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
