Hi everyone,
I mainly use my PC for gaming. When I run games like Farming Simulator 25, the GPU fans start getting loud after just one minute, and the temperature of the GPU quickly rises to around 86°C (186°F). It gets so loud that it's almost unbearable to play for more than 5 minutes.
I clean the GPU fans regularly, so dust shouldn't be the issue.
Can anyone help me figure out what I can do to fix this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @Sven761,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding optimizing GPU performance for the OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check for Software Updates:
- Ensure your graphics drivers and game software are up to date. You can use utilities like the HP Support Assistant or visit the GPU manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers.
Adjust Graphics Settings:
- Lower the graphics settings in Farming Simulator 25. Reducing settings like resolution, anti-aliasing, and texture quality can help decrease the load on your GPU.
Improve Airflow:
- Verify that your PC has adequate airflow. Ensure the fans are not obstructed and consider upgrading to high-performance fans for better cooling efficiency.
Monitor System Performance:
- Utilize the OMEN Command Center to monitor system vitals. This tool can provide insights into the operating temperatures and help you adjust your system’s performance settings accordingly.
Apply Thermal Paste:
- If you're comfortable, you might check the thermal paste on your GPU. Over time, thermal paste can degrade, affecting the heat transfer efficiency. Consult a professional if you are unfamiliar with the process.
Cooling System Upgrade:
- Consider upgrading your cooling system. Options like liquid cooling systems can significantly enhance cooling performance.
Software Solutions:
- Programs like MSI Afterburner can help track temperature and fan speeds, allowing you to adjust fan curves manually.
Check VRAM Usage:
- High VRAM usage can increase heat generation. Make adjustments to in-game settings to reduce VRAM usage, which might include lowering texture resolutions or disabling supersampling.
I hope this helps.
