It sounds like your HP Omen 25L is experiencing a power-related issue after being unplugged for an extended period. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Basic Power Checks
- Confirm Power Source: Ensure the wall socket is functional by plugging in another device.
- Check Power Cable & Adapter: Inspect the power cord for any damage or loose connections.
Perform a Power Reset
- Unplug the power cable from the PC.
- Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds.
- Plug the power cable back in and try turning it on.
Check the Power Supply Unit (PSU)
- If there’s no sign of life (no lights, no fan movement), your PSU might not be delivering power.
- If your PSU has a test button or LED indicator, check if it responds when pressed.
Reseat Internal Connections
If comfortable, open the case and:
- Ensure all power cables (24-pin motherboard, 8-pin CPU, and GPU cables) are securely connected.
- Reseat RAM sticks and GPU to ensure proper contact.
Test with a Different Power Cable or Outlet
Try another power cord or outlet to rule out external issues.
Check for CMOS Battery Issue
If your PC was unplugged for a long time, the CMOS battery might have drained, preventing the system from booting.
- Locate the CMOS battery (a small coin-cell battery on the motherboard).
- Remove it for 5 minutes, then put it back and try powering on.
Next Steps
If none of these work, the PSU or motherboard could be faulty. Do you hear any beep codes or see any signs of power at all?
Take care, and have an amazing day!
