So i had an older Hp omen obelisk i7-8700, 84fd, gtx 1060. I gave it to my sibling for small gaming like sims and school work. But they wanted to upgrade the storage on it. The original storage was a 256gb toshiba ssd, we purchased a gen3 crucial 4tb ssd card but it isnt being read and keeps doing boot disk not detected or the disk has failed. Can anyone help please

It think there might be compatibility issues with the new snap SSD you installed. Check if it's properly connected and compatible with your HP Omen Obelisk i7-8700. You may need to update your BIOS or drivers.

Hi @Oscarram28
You could have a SSD compatibility issue per @max_well854 but did you image or clone the OS from the existing 256 GB system drive to the new Crucial drive?
You will see a boot disk error at start up if you have replaced the OS drive with a new, empty drive. I would check the Storage Menu in the BIOS to see if the 4 TB drive is detected.
You will have to clone/image the new drive or do a clean Windows install. Or do a HP Cloud Recovery if the Omen qualifies.
