Hey, i've been having a issue where my dedicated graphic card which is Nvidia RTX 2060 doesn't show in task manager or device manager and it is hidden in device manager. The laptop suddenly crashes while playing games showing a blue screen with error message and restarts and Boom it doesn't show my graphic card. Again after some time like 5,6 hrs. or so it shows again out of no where and the process repeats.
i have installed latest drivers, BIOS update and even re-installed windows but the issue occurs again and again
I'm reaching out for assistance as this recurring issue is significantly impacting my ability to use my laptop for gaming and other graphics-intensive tasks. Any guidance or suggestions on how to resolve this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your attention and assistance.

Hi @thunderclap11,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are facing issues with the Nvidia Graphic Card not showing.
It sounds like there may be an issue with the drivers or the graphics card itself. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
Unhide the Graphics Card in Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
- In Device Manager, click on "View" in the menu bar and select "Show hidden devices."
- Look for the "Display adapters" section and expand it.
- If you see your Nvidia RTX 2060 listed but grayed out, right-click on it and select "Uninstall device." Then, restart your computer and check if the graphics card appears in Device Manager.
Update Graphics Card Drivers:
- Download the latest Nvidia drivers for the RTX 2060 from the Nvidia website.
- Install the drivers and restart your computer.
- Check if the graphics card appears in Device Manager and Task Manager after the restart.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Sometimes, Windows updates can fix issues with hardware recognition.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on "Check for updates."
BIOS Update:
- Check if there is a BIOS update available for your laptop on the HP support website.
- Follow the instructions to update your BIOS, as an outdated BIOS can sometimes cause hardware recognition issues.
Check for Other Software Conflicts:
- Sometimes, other software can conflict with the graphics card and prevent it from being recognized.
- Try disabling any recently installed software or antivirus programs temporarily to see if the issue is resolved.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- If the above steps don't work, there may be a hardware issue with the graphics card.
- Contact HP phone support or a service center nearby for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
