My NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3050 graphics card is not being detected by the system.
In device manager, it showed up gray when I clicked "view hidden." After following steps from other forums on HP, I uninstalled the Nvidia driver and restarted my system. However, my laptop's screen turned black and is not being detected either.
I can use the system by plugging the HDMI cord into a second monitor; however, my NVIDIA driver is now missing even when I click view hidden, and no driver updates are doing anything. I have also tried factory resetting the PC, but that also did nothing.
Please advise me on what to do.

Hi @pkapila,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're facing a complex issue with your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card not being detected properly on your HP laptop. Here’s a structured approach to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:
1. Reinstall NVIDIA Graphics Drivers Properly
Boot into Safe Mode: Since your laptop screen is black, try booting into Safe Mode. This mode loads only essential drivers and services, which might help you access the system without the NVIDIA driver causing issues.
- Press and hold the Shift key while clicking Restart in the Windows Start menu.
- Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Press F4 to boot into Safe Mode.
Reinstall NVIDIA Drivers:
- Download the latest NVIDIA drivers for your GeForce RTX 3050 from the NVIDIA website.
- Install the drivers in Safe Mode. Make sure to select the Custom installation option and choose Clean Installation to remove any previous driver remnants.
Restart Your Laptop: After reinstalling the drivers, restart your laptop normally and see if the NVIDIA graphics card is detected.
2. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings
- Access BIOS/UEFI: Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the key (often Esc, F2, F10, or Del) to enter BIOS/UEFI settings.
- Check Graphics Settings: Ensure that the dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) is enabled and set as the primary graphics adapter if applicable.
3. Check Device Manager and System Settings
- Open Device Manager (Windows Key + X, then click Device Manager).
- Check under Display adapters to see if the NVIDIA graphics card is listed and enabled. If it appears grayed out or with an error symbol, right-click and select Enable or Update Driver (choose to search automatically for updated driver software).
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Click on Advanced display settings and ensure that the correct display adapter (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) is selected.
4. Perform System Restore (if needed)
- Access System Restore:
- Type "System Restore" in the Windows search bar and select Create a restore point.
- Click System Restore and follow the on-screen instructions to choose a restore point from before the problem started.
5. Update Windows and HP Drivers
- Windows Update: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
- HP Support Assistant: Use the HP Support Assistant application to check for and install updates specific to your HP laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your reply,
Unfortunately, after multiple system crashes, my system stopped working and turning on altogether. I had to submit my device to the HP Service Center.
With the amount they are requesting for system repair, I will not be going forward with that option.
Thanks.
