Hello!
I was playing Minecraft, until my headset started blinking and "cutting out". When I took the headset off, I smelled smoke and quickly turned the electricity to my PC off. Later when I tried plugging another headset/mouse in the same 2 ports, it didn't work. I tried the same with the 2 USB ports over the broken ones and it works fine. Is there some way to fix it or do I need to send it back?

Intel I7 14700F

Greetings @Plantisenn
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Smoke would indicate an electronics fault on the MB or the case USB ports if this happened when using the front panel USB ports.
You would have a hardware problem probably requiring a component replacement (MB or front panel assembly, or both).
Contact HP Support if the PC is in warranty.
This could be a warranty covered item. Warranty coverage is not a given in your situation.
