OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0000i (236B0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi everyone,

I have been using this OMEN 30L GT13-0079na Intel Z490 i7 10700K Omen 30L Intel Core i7-10700K DoradoOC-AMP board with 2x8GB HP32D4U8S8ME-8XR total 16GB stock setup as shipped from HP since 2021.  When using Omen Overclock software at best I get below clocks. By looking at these installed Hyperx memory seems to be running JEDEC CL22. I have the latest bios F25. I can't get the bios advanced XMP profile shown when these sticks are installed.

Question 1

Is there a way to run an XMP profile with CL18 as shown on CPU-Z?

Question 2

I bought these 2x16GB dual sticks  KF432C16BBAK2/32 Fury beast

https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KF432C16BBAK2_32.pdf

When I boot the PC I can see the XMP Profile 1 with 3200 selected and XMP Profile 2 with speed Auto.

I have tried both one by one and could not get the 3200 speeds. PC defaults back to 2400 with CL17

When these sticks are installed I can't see memory details on Omen Overclocking software.

I have installed the Intel XTU software as well and memory-specific tap is not there for either of these sticks old/new.

Any thoughts on why I can't get the XMP profile working? Some pics with Furry Beast installed.

If I can't get them up to 3200 I might as well return them.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time and write back to me!

I have good news, I found the way around and it was so simple!

When I entered the advanced bios settings all I needed to do was change the DRAM frequency to 1600 under XMP Profile 1.

Now KF432C16BBAK2/32 Fury beast dual sticks run at full 3200 with CL 16 20 20 settings!

@vitalweb,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

When I look here amongst thousands of "HP System OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0xxx" Super Users, it appears that your OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0000i (236B0AV), as fitted with a Dorado OC-AMP motherboard (SSID: 8703), is very picky indeed when it comes to RAM.  I gave up after reviewing a couple of hundred User performance benchmarks, but all I could find was only HP-branded Kingston RAM which performed outstanding:

Kingston HP32D4U8D8HD-16XR 4x16GB
Kingston HP32D4U8D8HC-16XR 2x16GB
Kingston HP32D4U8D8HC-16X 2x16GB
Kingston HP32D4U8S8ME-8XR 4x8GB
Kingston HP37D4U1S8ME-8X 2x8GB

And then only when the Users fitted identical RAM, because mixing these RAM also significantly reduced the RAM's performance, such as this example shows:

Here is a list (incomplete) of sad-looking RAM which performed mediocre to flat-out dismal:

RAM which got stuck at its default (SPD) 2133 MHz RAM speed:

Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 C16 2x16GB
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600 C18 4x8GB
Corsair CMWX16GD3600C18W2D 4x16GB
Corsair CMW16GX4M2C3200C16 4x8GB
G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3000 C16 4x8GB
G.SKILL F4 DDR4 3000 C15 2x8GB

RAM which got stuck at its default (SPD) 2400 MHz RAM speed:

Kingston HyperX DDR4 3200 C16 4x16GB
Kingston KF3600C16D4/16GX 2x16GB
Kingston KF3200C16D4/32GX 4x32GB

Point is, better find identical HP-branded Kingston RAM (either 4 x 8GB or 4 x 16GB) for best RAM performance.

Btw, not one rig showed RAM running faster than 3200 MHz. Meaning, there probably isn't a way to OC RAM or access XMP.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@vitalweb,

Awesome!

-So, your OMEN does have (some) XMP access.

@vitalweb,

Looking at your UserBenchMark scores:

Memory: "24.3 GB free of 32 GB" -That means almost 8GB of reserved memory (!).  That ain't isn't normal.  -Hmm, unless your integrated GPU (i7-10700K) is reserving 8GB of RAM, or your available RAM has been misconfigured in UEFI setup or Msconfig.exe.

Meaning, I think I can assist you to improve your OMEN's performance.  Please follow this most informative Windows 10 (also applies to W11) optimization video, and then run UserBenchMark again: 🔧 How to Optimize Windows 10 For GAMING & Performance in 2019 The Ultimate Updated GUIDE - YouTube.

[EDIT:] Only correction: when Panjno says to type in seven f's, it should be eight (8) f's (ffffffff)!
