OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000i (1S3R9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

This message is intended for @BBXR219, who posted the following question on 03-17-2022: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/OMEN-30L-Memory-Upgrade/m-p/8331962#M17817, and received no follow-up response(s).

I missed his question, and @BBXR219's message has since been closed for comments, or else I would have responded as I am doing now.

The question was why the newly installed 4 x Kingston Fury DDR4 3200 CL16-18-18 RAM sticks in an OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000i (1S3R9AV) is running at 2400 MHz, and not at 3200 MHz.

Short answer: HP (gaming) desktops are very particular with RAM and associated RAM speed.  I dealt with similar RAM speed compatibility issues before when I bought fancy gaming RAM for my rigs, only to find out it didn't meet my RAM speed expectations either.

Of course, I hope @BBXR219 got his/her/its Kingston Fury RAM to work at 3200 MHz, but I somehow doubt that.  Reason being that not all Kingston Fury is created equal: it has to be Kingston HP-Fury, I'm afraid...

I came to this conclusion by looking at hundreds of HP Omen 30L-GT13-1xxx desktops here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-OMEN-30L-Desktop-GT13-1xxx/233679.

Summarizing, the Kingston HP37D4U1S8ME-8XR and Kingston HP37D4U1S8HC-16XR are the RAM of choice by Super Users and show by far among the best RAM performances I have ever seen, to be honest.

For example, consider this User's RAM performance (link: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/50020578) :

Wow. One-hundred-forty-three percent at benchmark. Holy cajole. Zip-a-dee-doo-dah.

The problem is that these HP-branded Kingston Fury RAM sticks are in short supply, difficult to get and expensive.

Anyway, that's the feedback I wanted to share.

Kind Regards,
