OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop PC GT16-0000i (9X6A4AV)

Whenever I open the OMEN Gaming Hub and attempt to control the lights of fans, the control panel fails to load. It gets stuck on the loading screen indefinitely.
I’ve already installed the light patch (sp154613) and updated the OMEN SDK, but the issue persists.
This problem started occurring after I updated all software and performed a BIOS update someday ago.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi @kevinlzw,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with the Omen gaming hub application on your PC.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.

Please follow the below steps to fix the issue.

-Perform a power drain on your PC.

 1) Unplug the power cord from the PC & wall.

2) Disconnect the power cable from the AC adapter if it is a detachable part and keep it aside.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the AC adapter, then connect it to the wall and to the charging port on your PC.

5) Power on the PC and wait for the PC to boot into Windows now.

-Update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link.

Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.

Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.

Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

-Install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.

-If the issue still persists, uninstall the omen gaming hub application and refer to the steps on this link to reinstall it again.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!

Same issue for me. I bought 3 of these, GT16-0014, on sale. On one at startup, the lights on the fans and RAM were on, but the lighting tab in the gaming hub app would only control the RAM.

I went to HP site and downloaded all recommended drivers from site. After this the lighting tab won’t load, it just gives the little loading symbol indefinitely.

Ran diagnostics through HP assistant which recommended a BIOS update to version 9 from 8. After this fan lights won’t turn on at all, RAM lights still on, lighting tab still won’t load.

Spent 3 hours on phone with tech support, Remote Desktop, tried to revert BIOS, etc. He couldn’t solve and recommended to send it in for service or just return.

On the other 2 units upon opening the gaming hub app it immediately prompted for a firmware update and they work fine.

Obviously a driver/compatibility issue. Would be nice if they could provide a fix other than the textbook stuff that’s not going to fix the issue until they fix the gaming hub. Silly to waste so much time and return an expensive product.
