OMEN Obelisk 875-0014
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My newly acquired OMEN Obelisk 875-0014 has a single HyperX 16GB DDR4-2666 (288-pin) RAM card.  I want to add a 2nd card to max out RAM.  I want to match the existing card but my searches yield several brand names, some with card pairs, some with single sticks.  How do I determine the exact match I need?

Hello @jlmccarty

IF you want to add to the existing memory using a brand name ram stick, you need to match the timings of the original stick.

You can use a tool like CPU-Z or Speccy. Both are free to download. You can use either 8 GB sticks or 16GB sticks to a total of 32GB

This is the best method.

You can also use the Crucial Memory Finder tool to find what you need and purchase through them.

If you want to get the original HP part, HP is not currently selling it according to the HP parts finder, but the part number is L40876-800.

Memory - GNRC RAM UDIMM 16G DDR4 1.2V 2666 HS

Thanks for the reply.  Your answer definitely led me to go with an exact match.  I very carefully opened the tower case and determined the exact 16 GB RAM card installed in the Obelisk then searched for the manufacturer and model for a single 16 GB stick or RAM.   I've ordered the Kingston HyperX with the exact specs listed on the computer's box/label.

Can you pls confirm if the Kingston part for RAM is KCP426ND16  ?

I ordered/received a Kingston Technology HyperX Fury Black 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 DIMM  (HX426C16FB/16)

Not knowing if the builds are consistent over time I could not say whether your Omen would have the same specs.
My search led me to believe there are many iterations of the Omen desktop PC and my best advice is to very carefully examine the 16GB card installed in your desktop and order accordingly.

Newgamer,  just to let you know, I am not a gamer nor particularly proficient on the inner workings of PCs.  More of a power user of some higher end software so my answer is very basic.
