OMEN 25i Gaming FHD Monitor
Microsoft Windows 11

Since I’ve gotten this monitor it has only been on 60Hz. Wasn’t aware until recently that if I wanted the 165Hz as advertised I needed to change it in the system settings. I attempted to change it to 165Hz and the screen went completely black and was flashing between sources attempting to find a signal. I then tried 144Hz which seemed to work and looked decent. Now while actively using the computer the monitor will dim halfway and I have no idea why or how to fix it. The last two times it happened once I shut the monitor off and back on and the second time it fixed itself within a few seconds.

1. Why is setting to 165Hz not working?

2. Why is it dimming?

3. How to fix?

Also I have the response time on the quickest setting. I’m using Windows 11 and 1920x1080 resolution. Anything other information needed let me know.
