OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000a (207P6AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I cant get my ram into xmp mode, it stays in jedec mode with these crappy timings..

Dont have the 'extra' menu in the bios, and ryzen master crashes if i change the timings.. as it req 1.35v xmp profile..

See screenshot, all hp sticks.

@jcnwholland,

According to HP's specs for your PC (please verify): OMEN 30L GT13-1284 Desktop PC product specifications | HP® Customer Support with the "Hana" motherboard (please verify): HP Desktop PCs - Hana motherboard specifications | HP® Customer Support, which supports only up to PC4-25600 (DDR4-3200MHz) RAM...

In other words, your RAM is unable to run faster than is allowed by HP's BIOS.  Your DDR4 RAM supports XMP 2.0 overclocking functionality, but your Hana motherboard does not support the speed your RAM is capable of.

Kind Regards,

So why does the intel version got its bios unlocked for xmp? Same generation..

Furthermore, why advertise with xmp in the amd systems?

@jcnwholland,

I understand -you aren't exactly the first Omen 30L user raising this issue. Searching in our user-to-user HP Forum, I found that @Prométhée provided helpful feedback regarding your issue here: Solved: Poor memory timings - HP Support Community - 8302340.

Hi, thxn for taking the time to elaborate on this, i did my forum search, but that did not provide any new info, nor info that is always correct.. One of the things is that xmp is advertised, and it doesnt run in a normal xmp profile.. but does boost the clock? See screenshots. Why cant i change the timings as the intel version of my does? Its the same gen.. same mem..

What I did was run cpu-z to see what my recommended timings on the memory would be and copied it over to AMD Ryzen Master.  I am running non-stock memory also, G.Skill 32gb 3600 Tridentz RGB kit 16x2, and it works great.  I believe there is another bios update past the F.12 but I didn't bother since AMD Master program is working for me.  You can set the memory timings in the BIOS for the F.12 version reboot and smash the F10 key and go to Advanced under there you apply an XMP profile (which was broken timings for me) or choose custom, I did custom and it would save but on windows task manager it would show the 2667 speed as it wasn't applying the BIOS settings.

So to get mine to work I included the memory in AMD Ryzen Master and set the following as picture describes, use half speed since its dual channel (IE: 3600mhz = 1800), hit apply, rebooted good to go. Apps needed CPUz for Info display, Newest AMD Ryzen Master.  Here is my screen shots and task manager view of set speed.  There are a few You Tube videos also walking you through the Omen 30l or omen 25.

Hi, thank you for your detailed suggestions and explanation @DarealiceT.

The problem is that i do not see the advanced tab in the bios unfortunately.. Its dutch for some reason but it says: Main menu,

security, configuration, boot options.  There is nothing under config.

What am i missing?

Regarding the timings in Ryzen master: yes i had a go with that before, but resulting in hardware lock ups/ temporally non booting device. What i did find out in cpuz, is that the timings differ from those i used ( from hwinfo). Maybe that caused the errors? Will do some more debuggin today, i'll keep you in the loop. Thxn again
