OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-3000i (A57DRAV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I bought my Omen 45L a little over a week ago, and ever since it came out of the box the RGB lighting has not been able to be turned on. The only RGB feature that works is the RGB located on the sticks of ram, and those turned on on their own. Furthermore, the lighting section on OMEN gaming hub AND OMEN lighting studio both seem to not be able to control any aspect of any of the lights. They cant turn on the lights that are off, and they cant turn off the lights that are on. They cant change the colors on the lights that are on and they cant dim or make the lights that are on brighter. I've downloaded drivers, restarted the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled OMEN gaming hub countless times, tried the support AI chat on HP's website (super not helpful) and searched and sleuthed through every single dark crevice of the internet for an answer so hard that I probably ended up on some sort of government watchlist and I still have no clue. I genuinely can't find a single lead or way to resolve this, albeit not very important but highly aggravating, issue.

If anyone, and I mean anyone, has any advice or if you've dealt with this PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO INFORM ME. I feel like I'm losing hair from not being able to figure this out for a week and at this point I'm feeling very defeated. Thank you

Hi @NavyGlue,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand how frustrating this can be, especially with a premium system like the OMEN by HP 45L GT22-3000i. You're right to expect full control over the RGB features through OMEN Gaming Hub and OMEN Light Studio, and we appreciate your patience.

Let’s work through this carefully: This most likely indicates a missing driver, misconfigured BIOS setting, or an internal header not connected properly out of the box.

1. Install or Reinstall the OMEN SDK (Lighting Control Engine)

Sometimes the OMEN SDK (HP Lighting Control Service) isn't installed correctly or is corrupted.

👉 Direct HP OMEN SDK Download: HP Gaming Computers - Driver Updates Block Access to Features in OMEN Gaming Hub | HP® Support.

  1. Download the ZIP above.
  2. Extract and run setup.exe as Administrator.
  3. Reboot your system.
  4. Launch OMEN Gaming Hub and check if the lighting now appears.

2. Verify BIOS Setting: Internal RGB is Enabled

  1. Restart your PC → Press F10 to enter HP UEFI BIOS Setup.
  2. Look under the Advanced or System Configuration tab.
  3. Ensure any setting labelled “Internal Lighting” or “RGB Control” is enabled.
  4. Save and exit with F10.

If this setting is missing or greyed out, it’s possible the motherboard isn't recognizing the RGB controller module, which brings us to step 3.

3. Ensure OMEN Gaming Hub is Fully Updated (and Running All Modules)

Instructions:

  1. Open Microsoft Store → Search for OMEN Gaming Hub.
  2. Install or update to the latest version.
  3. Launch OMEN Gaming Hub.
  4. If prompted, install “OMEN SDK” or “OMEN Light Studio plugin”.
    • If not prompted, manually open Light Studio from the app sidebar.

🧠 Note: OMEN Gaming Hub requires the Microsoft Store and Xbox Services to be enabled.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thank you for the help. I really do appreciate it, unfortunately none of the suggestions have worked and the problem has not been resolved. I may have to take the computer either back to the store or to a repair shop to get this figured out.
