Omen 45l
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi there, i installed sound blaster ae7 in my Omen 45l yesterday and the following issue occurs: on fresh bootup the soundcard is not recognized. In event viewer there is a whea logger 17 issue (PCI Express Root Port, Advanced Error Reporting (PCI Express) PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_7AC8&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_11). All drivers up to date (Sound Blaster command center, Windows Update etc.). When restarting soundcard works fine (but whea logger 17 remains). Whats going on here? Hope you can help me. Thanks alot!

@Fox2k , welcome to the Community.

This is more likely a problem with the Sound Blaster than it is the HP hardware.  I suggest that you contact Creative's Tech Support for help.  They are the experts on their products and will be able to tell you what the error message means.

Please click the "Yes" button if my reply was helpful and "Accept as Solution" if your problem is Solved!!

Hi, reporting back. Creative Labs support couldnt help me. Soundcard was exchanged. Issue persists. The card works flawlessy in another PC. So this is an HP related issue. HP Support: What to do now? Newest BIOS F30 RevA is installed. All drivers etc up to date...

Thank you for the additional information, @Fox2k!

I suggest going to Creative's website to see if they have updated software for the card.  This seems to be a driver problem.  The manufacturer of the device is responsible for providing the drivers.

Hi there, both software and drivers from creative are up to date. Actually, creative support wants me to change to USB soundcard. This is not an option for me.
