OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently purchased an Omen 30L Desktop (GT13-0) spec with the Ryzen 3700X CPU and Radeon 5700 GPU, for reference.

I also chose to purchase a matching Omen screen, the X 27, and while the panel is beautiful (though displays the 'older' style logo) I'm struggling to use the full functions as the Command Center does not recognise that it has RGB lighting. I'm able to adjust the panel refresh rate and other features such as picture mode. However, the light effect which is hidden just underneath the panel cannot be adjusted in the software - to do so I have to navigate the monitors in-built menus to change the colour/brightness. This wouldn't necessarily be an issue but each time I turn the monitor off via power button it resets the colour back to red and I believe the key to solving this is having the software to adjust and store my chose colour.

Considering the above, I have done some research and found that some variant of the Command Center software has previously been able to adjust the light underneath the panel. Please see the following article (https://uk.pcmag.com/monitors/123118/hp-omen-x-25f) which refers to the software being able to adjust the lighting, albeit on the smaller X 25 panel.

Could someone please advise whether this feature has been permanently removed from the Command Center or whether there is an alternate version of the software I can download which will enable me to adjust the lighting as I see fit?

Hello @LTH21

It helps to always give us the full model or Product number so we know exactly what you have.
Press Control/Alt/S for the information menu in windows
Or go to the Start menu and scroll to H/HP Help and Support/HP Support Assistant.
Open the program and click on your computer in the list.

This doesn't surprise me at all anymore. The OCC is very glitchy and if there are any changes, HP does not notify us of them.

All I can offer is to uninstall then reinstall the OCC again from the Microsoft store... Get OMEN Command Center - Microsoft Store

Also install the Event Utility.. Get HP System Event Utility - Microsoft Store

There is an SDK package but I doubt it will have anything to do with the monitor... sp105569.exe

Then run Windows updates again but force it to search for updates, even if it shows the first time that its up to date by clicking the search button. Now you have reinstalled all the HP requirements.

IF no joy, all you can do is go to the Feedback button at the bottom of the OCC and send your complaint directly to the Omen Team. Select Issue from the drop down list and check the box for sending Log files. You will need an email client like MS Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird, etc. This will get your issue seen more than my reporting it.
