Omen Desktop works only HP GPU?

Hi, i have Omen 30L, i would like to change RTX 3080 with 4080, I read that only hp gpu work, so I tried an old GT 640 and it actually gives me a black screen, no signal, only the fans are spinning. Could an nvidia 4000 not work? Thanks

Your OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000i (1S3R6AV) is fitted with an Oasis motherboard (SSID: 886B), and either has a 750 watt or an 800 watt power supply.

Many sources suggest an RTX 4080 requires a minimum 850-watt power supply, other sources however, such as Techpowerup, suggest that a minimum of 750 watt power supply ought to be sufficient.

The way I see it, it's going to be a question of size AND power -that is having sufficient 8-pin PCIe power cables hooked up to separate power rails.  First of all, most [EDIT:] RTX 4080 cards are at least 320mm long, with several more than 360mm long. Another issue to look into is that these cards require one 16-pin PCIe power cable. Several sources say that a 2 x 8-pin PCIe to 16-pin PCIe cable adapter does not provide adequate power to an RTX 4080. They claim 4 x 8-pin to 16-pin PCIe power cable adapter is needed. ok thank you very much but the question is: are there any compatibility limits with the motherboard? why the GT 640 from black screen? also other users with HP motherboard certain gpu give black screen

Just to be clear, does your OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000i have an Oasis (SSID: 886B) or an OasisOC motherboard (SSID: 886C)?

Reason why I am asking is that I located at least one HP OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1xxx User (with an OasisOC motherboard), who was able to fit an RTX 4090: HP OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1xxx Performance Results - UserBenchmark, which shows that at least the OasisOC motherboards can handle the RTX 40xx graphics cards.

The difference(s) between an Oasis and an OasisOC  motherboard may be small, but I was unable to find any OMEN 30L with an Oasis (SSID: 886B) motherboard fitted with an RTX 40xx graphics card.
