New computer and it has audio issue. No Bass when I tried to go into the settings it is not like the old one. I used to be able to go into the audio controller app and go to the Enhancements and enable Equalizer and then drop down the menu to select Bass. Not it does not show up in this new computer and the audio is terrible. All high pitch sounds no bass enhancement or anything in that Sound setting app. Any suggestions? I need to use the bass. Important for games and movies and music. No bass sucks. Please help if you can. Peace.

Hi @Rick62F,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A new high-end gaming PC like the HP Omen GT22-3000 should have solid audio, but without bass, everything sounds hollow and weak. Let's try a few fixes to bring back your bass and enhancements.
Check Realtek Audio Console (if installed)
Your old PC likely had Realtek Audio Console, which lets you access equalizers and enhancements.
- Press Windows + S and type Realtek Audio Console.
- If it opens, check if there’s an "Enhancements" or "Equalizer" section where you can adjust bass.
- If it’s missing, move to step 2.
Install or Reinstall Realtek Drivers & Control Panel
Your new PC might be using generic Microsoft audio drivers, which lack enhancements like Bass Boost.
Try reinstalling Realtek drivers:
- Download the latest drivers from HP's site for your Omen GT22-3000 or from Realtek’s official site.
- Open Device Manager (Windows + X → Device Manager).
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click Realtek Audio (or any audio device) → Uninstall device (check “Delete the driver” if available).
- Restart your PC, then install the downloaded Realtek driver.
- After installation, restart again and check if Realtek Audio Console appears.
Enable Enhancements Manually in Sound Settings
If the Realtek control panel is still missing:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → Sounds.
- Go to the Playback tab and double-click your audio device (e.g., Speakers - Realtek Audio).
- In the new window, look for an Enhancements tab.
- If available, enable Bass Boost or Equalizer, then choose a preset like “Bass”.
Switch to a Different Audio Driver (if Needed)
Sometimes, Windows defaults to Microsoft's “High Definition Audio” driver, which lacks enhancements.
- Open Device Manager (Windows + X → Device Manager).
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click Realtek Audio → Update driver.
- Select Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick from a list.
- Choose Realtek High Definition Audio instead of Microsoft’s default driver.
- Restart your PC and check your audio settings again.

Third-Party Equalizer Software (If Nothing Works)
If Realtek still doesn’t give you bass boost, try third-party equalizers like:
- Peace Equalizer + APO (Free, very powerful)
- Boom 3D (Paid but high-quality sound enhancement)
- FXSound (Easy to use, free & paid versions)
These let you manually boost bass frequencies and fine-tune your sound.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
