New 35L with issue straight out box. No lighting on any of the fans other than at initial first bootup. Since then no lighting on any of the fans. RAM sticks are lighting up.
Omen Gaming Hub opens but in lighting tab it just sits with the loading icon. In light studio only the connected monitor is shown but no other devices.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the gaming hub and light studio. Reset the PC through system recovery with Local windows and also from cloud but still the issue remains. Also went through all HP solutions downloads. Gaming Hub won’t open if try to run as administrator - just sits going through the black square messages on loop.
opted to just request a return as after spending an hour on phone with tech support- majority of which I was placed on hold while the agent consulted colleagues - I was told I’d get a callback in a hour. No callback received and no case showing online.

Hi @35LRSK,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're facing a frustrating issue with the lighting control on your OMEN 35L Gaming Desktop PC, particularly with the fans, and problems with the OMEN Gaming Hub not working as intended. Let's break this down and troubleshoot step by step.
Hardware Check:
- Since the RAM sticks light up but fans don't, this suggests that the issue might be software-related, but it’s also worth checking the fan connections.
- Open the case and ensure that:
- All fan connectors (RGB and power) are properly seated in their headers on the motherboard.
- There is no loose connection or issue with the fan RGB hub (if one is installed).
BIOS/Driver Updates:
- BIOS Update: Ensure your BIOS is up-to-date. If there is a newer version, updating the BIOS could help with lighting control compatibility.
- Motherboard Chipset Drivers: Install the latest motherboard chipset drivers from HP's website.
- RGB Controller Firmware: If your OMEN PC has an RGB controller, check if there are any firmware updates available for it.
Reinstalling OMEN Gaming Hub Properly:
- You mentioned reinstalling OMEN Gaming Hub, but let’s try this again with a clean installation:
- Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub and OMEN Light Studio completely. Use a tool like Revo Uninstaller to ensure no leftover files or registry entries remain.
- Restart your PC.
- Download the latest versions of both OMEN Gaming Hub and OMEN Light Studio from HP’s official website.
- Reinstall them and see if this fixes the issue.
Clearing the OMEN Hub Cache:
- Sometimes, issues with OMEN Gaming Hub are caused by corrupted files or a faulty cache. Try clearing the cache:
- Navigate to C:\Users[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\HP\OmenGamingHub\cache.
- Delete everything inside the cache folder.
- Restart OMEN Gaming Hub and see if the lighting options load correctly.
Windows Troubleshooting:
- Since the OMEN Gaming Hub freezes when run as administrator, there may be a conflict with permissions or a system setting. You can try:
- Running it in compatibility mode:
- Right-click the OMEN Gaming Hub icon, go to Properties, and under the Compatibility tab, try running it in Windows 8 compatibility mode.
- Check Event Viewer: Go to Windows Event Viewer and check under Application Logs for any errors related to OMEN Gaming Hub. This might give clues about what’s going wrong.
- Running it in compatibility mode:
Try External RGB Software (Optional):
- If you want to test the lighting while troubleshooting the OMEN Gaming Hub, you could try third-party software like SignalRGB or OpenRGB to control the lighting. It might give you temporary control of the lights while sorting out the issue with OMEN's software.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
