Omen desktop
Microsoft Windows 11

I have this one. Desktop I purchased a few years ago. I had been having multiple issues.

#1 occasionally the fans rev up and spill really fast and the computer shuts down.

#2 when idle, I often hear the fans spin fast like it's trying to come out of idle, but it doesn't. It's kinda strange to randomly hear it do that.

#3 sometime when the PC goes idle, I have to physically restart the machine to make the screen come back on. Moving the mouse or using the keyboard are unresponsive and don't wake the PC. This happoens on a daily basis, but isn't always the case. Again, i do r experience this every time I wake the PC, but it happens probably 1 in 4 times or so.

It's still under warranty but id rather not have it shipped back to hp for repair if it's something that I can fix.

Greetings @TwaQ

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Your PC's behavior seems to point to a hardware problem.

Try using the PC with only a: mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Then try the mouse and keyboard in all available USB ports. Run the PC long enough to see how things go.

Continuing instability might lead you to redo Windows. Back up data and try a HP Cloud Recovery or do a clean W11 install.

You're good to go if the symptoms go away.

Same stuff after redoing Windows would suggest a power supply problem. Or a component problem.

You may have to use the warranty.

Thanks for the reply. I'm also guessing it's likely a PSU. I can replace that myself. Would hp reimburse me for the cost of the PSU or send one to me?

My pleasure.

I don't know if HP would reimburse or send a replacement part.

You would have to contact HP.
