I notice that a BIOS update was released recently on the HP Support Assistant software, and on checking there is now an Advanced section which allow you to overclock the ram
I have added an extra 16Gb Hyper-X Fury 3200Mhz ram but as its not stock, my ram now runs at 2400Mhz
When I try to update the clock speed to 1600 (as you have to double it) in the bios and change the CL to 18, 22, 22 on saving, I get beep codes - 3 long, 2 short then 2 long, the pc restarts and it reverts the bios back to 1200
Any ideas?

got this sorted.
The way I did this, was to remove the extra ram. get all the memory cl settings from intel xtu - I used version 6.5.1.355
Then reinstalled the extra memory, went into the bios and added a custom profile with those settings
Windows now sees all 4 sticks running at 3200Mhz

Hello
it looks new ..
Can you give the exact model of your computer, the motherboard, and the version of your new bios
If possible a photo of the option to modify.
it could help more than one!
Thank you

Sure, its a HP Omen 30L GT13
Motherboard is Intel Z490
BIOS update was for ROM Family SSID 8703, SoftPaq number: sp134330 version F.20
This is what it looked like before I made the changes to overclock the ram
As people could be using different ram with different settings, I dont think I should upload a picture of my overclocked settings

sorry, one more time
You did not give the exact model, but according to the SSID, your motherboard could be this:
Motherboard Specifications, DoradoOC-AMP
SSID: 8703
You confirm ?
this is important I think, because it is a particular model ( oc version )
probably not possible so with any motherboard the 20 / 30l series
