HP Omen 870 201nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, two days ago while I was playing i could hear this extremely loud noise from the coolers: I installed a program to check temperatures and my CPU was well over 70°C. The only notable thing i could have done was add more RAM, but I even removed the new RAM and it still overheated. Please help

CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070

I wouldn't worry so much about that temp if it's while gaming, 70c+ is pretty normal for a PC under full load.

The loud sound of the fans being new to you I would be more concerned about, might be time to dust the case out and wipe the fan blades down.

I can't tell  you how common it is though to hear something "new" coming from the PC after installing something yourself, quite common for about the first 20 upgrades or so for all of us 🙂

If you're worried about it you can check HP recommendations and tips for your memory here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-870-200/13687063/document/c05385420/

@tatbevi,

While 100c is the max, I would suggest you read this article.

This article is intense, but if you can get to section 14, enjoy.
