OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000a (207P6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, i recently had some issues with my cpu over throttling and shutting down my pc so i downloaded omen gaming hub to try to optimize my cpu. I ended up lowering its voltage which fixed the temperature problem but now all audio stutters and fps constantly drops so after a lot of troubleshooting i ended up reinstalling win 11 and getting a fresh install.

I downloaded amd drivers for my cpu, nvidia drivers for my gpu, got all latest windows updates and even debloated my pc some and then when i tried to play the audio stutters, weird thing is that it only stutters when im tabbed out of Rainbow Six Siege and i can hear the fans getting all quiet. My theory is that the cpu is downclocking immensely as soon as i have nothing except maybe edge and discord running or if i'm tabbed out of my game. I've used ryzen master to try to turn down my voltage and i've tried default voltage but nothing works.

Greetings @mNyy

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I can't get a handle on exactly what's going on.

Lowering CPU voltage is good to a certain point. You can cause instability if you go too far.

I did not know CPU voltages could be tweaked using Omen Gaming Hub. I don't have an Omen PC at this time.

I would run everything at stock settings to see what's happening.

I'm additionally confused since you are suggesting stability problems only occur when doing Rainbow Siege. So, this does not happen if you play other games?

Have you run any synthetic component benchmarks to test PC stability? Try Heaven Benchmark, or FurMark, or Cinebench R23.

Try HWiNFO portable to check component temps and operating parameters.

Check your PC's hardware (at stock settings) using HP Diagnostics as follows:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F2". Run extensive system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem.

You have a weird problem, very tough to figure out.

Try resetting the BIOS to defaults:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F10".

Select "File".

Select "Apply Defaults and Exit".

Then run the tests indicated in my first response to see how it goes.
