Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In the last 4 weeks, the PC performance has SO disappeared, I’ve been trying to fix the problem for a very long time, it doesn’t work, I installed old drivers for the video card, reinstalled the system, nothing helps.

Hi @Nikita_Raginska,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with performance despite trying various troubleshooting steps. Here are some additional steps and considerations you can take to further diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

Hardware Check:

  1. Temperature Monitoring: Ensure your CPU and GPU temperatures are within normal ranges. Overheating can severely impact performance.
  2. Hardware Integrity: Check if all hardware components are properly connected and functioning. This includes RAM sticks, GPU seating, and cables.

Software and System Optimization:

Task Manager Analysis: Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to identify if any processes are consuming unusually high CPU, memory, or disk resources.

Startup Programs: Disable unnecessary startup programs using Task Manager or MSConfig (System Configuration) to reduce load on system startup.

Disk Cleanup: Perform a disk cleanup to remove temporary files and free up disk space.

Defragmentation (if using HDD): If your primary storage is a hard disk drive (HDD), defragmenting it can sometimes improve performance.

Drivers and Updates:  Software and Drivers for OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop GT14-0004nf PC

  1. Update Drivers: Ensure all drivers, especially graphics card drivers, are up to date. Visit the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers.

Malware and Security:

  1. Scan for Malware: Perform a full system scan with your antivirus software to check for malware or viruses that could be affecting performance.

Advanced Options:

System Restore: Consider using System Restore to revert your system to a point where performance was better, if applicable.

Performance Monitor: Use the built-in Performance Monitor (perfmon) tool in Windows to analyze performance over time and identify any bottlenecks.

Hardware Upgrades (if applicable):

RAM: Adding more RAM can significantly improve performance if your system is running low on memory.

Storage: Consider upgrading to a solid-state drive (SSD) if you're currently using an HDD, as SSDs offer faster read/write speeds.
