Microsoft Windows 11

I'm not sure what's been causing this problem. This happened before in the past but after I restarted the PC it was fine. However, today it's happened again after restarting, so it became a concern to me. Can anyone help?

Hi @4brar

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Your PC's specs look good.

I have to ask a few questions:

1. What are you doing when the PC freezes? Do you have random lockups or is the PC freezing only when doing specific activities?

2. Is the PC freezing in Windows, meaning it locks up at whatever app you are using, or are you getting a blue screen error message? What error message do you see if the PC is blue screening?

3. Have you done any troubleshooting? Please describe.

I will provide some troubleshooting tips after knowing what you have done to solve this problem. It is difficult to troubleshoot this type of error in a Forum. It could take a while to isolate the cause.

Possible causes to this symptom are:

1. Hardware problem with any component installed in your PC. A failing system drive or faulty memory can cause this behavior. A peripheral device connected to the PC could cause this symptom.

2. Hardware driver problem. Or a BIOS update may fix a known issue with the MB.

3. System file problem.

4. Malware.

5. Buggy software.

Sometimes it is suggested to reinstall the HP factory operating system image, after backing up data, if you can't isolate the source of the problem.

A hardware problem would usually be indicated if the symptom continues after a factory reset. Only use: a mouse, keyboard, and monitor to eliminate a buggy peripheral.

Regards
