Hello everyone,

I have an OMEN 16L Gaming Desktop PC TG03-0000i with the original 400 W 80 Plus Platinum power supply.

I want to upgrade the PSU to around 650 W so I can add higher power components in the future.

Can anyone please advise on:

  • Whether HP offers an official 650 W (or similar) PSU upgrade for this model

  • If third-party PSUs are compatible and what to watch out for

  • Any special connectors, proprietary power cables, or BIOS-level limitations on HP/OMEN desktops

  • Physical size or mounting considerations inside the case

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

@8d34,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Yes, there is a proprietary 650-watt power supply upgrade available for your OMEN 16L Gaming Desktop PC TG03-0000i with part number: L36049-003 / L57253-003 / L36048-003, such as shown in this eBay purchase option: 650W Power Supply Compatible with HP 800 G3 G4 G5, Z2, and Envy 795 Desktop Seri | eBay.

Because your PC lacks the mounting screw holes to allow the larger-sized 650-watt power supply model, you'll need to use this smaller-sized (same dimensions as your current power supply) unit.

Only disclaimer is that the aforementioned power supply upgrade option is not specifically mentioned in your PC's specs.

Kind Regards,
