Hi @Pavilioncrash,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I'm sorry to hear that your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop is still crashing. Given that you've already tried many troubleshooting steps, let's go through a few more advanced and targeted actions to help resolve this issue.
1. Check Event Viewer for Errors
- Press Windows + X and select Event Viewer.
- In the Event Viewer, navigate to Windows Logs > System and Application.
- Look for any error messages or critical events that coincide with the times your laptop crashed. Note any specific error codes or messages.
2. Run Hardware Diagnostics
- Restart your laptop and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press F2 to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Run a full system test to check for hardware issues, especially with the RAM, hard drive, and graphics card.
3. Check for Overheating
- Overheating can cause crashes. Use software like HWMonitor or Core Temp to monitor your laptop’s temperature while gaming or running intensive applications.
- Ensure your laptop is placed on a hard, flat surface for proper ventilation. Consider using a cooling pad.
4. Update BIOS and Firmware
- Go to the HP support website and check for BIOS and firmware updates specific to your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 15-Dk100 CTO.
- Follow the instructions to download and install any available updates.
5. Disable Overclocking

Hi @Pavilioncrash,
Please find the next steps below.
6. Check and Update Drivers
- Ensure that all your drivers, especially the graphics card driver, are up to date. Use the manufacturer’s website (NVIDIA or AMD) for the latest drivers.
- Open Device Manager (Press Windows + X and select Device Manager).
- Expand Display adapters, right-click on your graphics card, and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
7. Run Memory Diagnostic
- Press Windows + R, type mdsched.exe, and press Enter.
- Choose Restart now and check for problems (recommended).
- Your laptop will restart and run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool. Note any errors reported.
8. Check for Software Conflicts
- Boot your laptop in Safe Mode and see if it still crashes. Safe Mode loads only essential drivers and services.
- Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Go to the Boot tab and check Safe boot.
- Restart your laptop and see if it operates normally in Safe Mode.
9. Perform a Clean Boot
- Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Go to the Services tab and check Hide all Microsoft services.
- Click Disable all.
- Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
- Disable all startup items.
- Close Task Manager and click OK in the System Configuration window.
- Restart your laptop and see if the issue persists.
10. Reinstall Windows
- If all else fails, performing a clean installation of Windows can resolve deep-seated software issues.
- Backup your important data.
- Create a bootable USB drive with Windows 11 using the Media Creation Tool.
- Boot from the USB drive and follow the prompts to reinstall Windows.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it could indicate a deeper hardware problem. In that case, contacting HP phone support.
