Hi:

You have an OMEN BY HP DESKTOP PC - Model 870-224.

Here are the specs...

OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-224 Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

According to the motherboard specs, your PC only has a M.2 slot for a wifi adapter, not a M.2 SSD.

You would definitely need an adapter to fit an NVMe SSD, but unfortunately, I don't know if your PC supports booting from an adapter in the PCIe express slot.

You may want to play it safe and replace the 3.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

I did a search on the forum and did not find any posts related to adding a NVMe SSD with an adapter in the model motherboard your PC comes with.
