Hi, (and sorry about the lag been busy with other things)

It would seem that the problem has been solved by resetting Windows to factory settings (BIOS reset did nothing on it's own). I haven't had much time to do testing or put the processor under real stress but as I can write this without thermal shutdown I'm satisfied and "idle" temps are back to about 35-55C.

To bear in mind for those who haven't seen my post: (And my educated guess is that the following has no effect on the overheating problem)

My hardware is HP Pavilion Gaming 0685no and I've modded it with watercooling for cpu and it has two 120mm fans that i placed to work as out fans on the "roof" with the radiator. Intake is just more holes drilled to the side and the old outage hole on the back all fitted with dust control material.

Also I got rid of HP assistant just to be on the safe side with future updates

and updated relevant software manually (a pain nowdays that everything usually runs smooth on the backround)

Thank you and hope others with similar issues have found workarounds too

As i said, my overheating problems stopped when i reset Windows and kept hp omen gaming center running. That kept the outtake fan running at all times. But hp released a new Bios update on Saturday and my guess is it fixed this problem cause now i sont Need to have omen center open for fan to go when it needs.
