Hi @Lowanda,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the new ATT modem might be affecting your printer's speed, possibly due to changes in network settings or connectivity. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the slow printing issue.

Check Network Connection:

  • Make sure your printer is properly connected to the new modem. Verify that it's connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Sometimes printers might connect to a different network or have issues with network settings after a modem change.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your modem, router, and printer. Powering everything off and then back on can often resolve connectivity issues.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP OfficeJet 3830. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve performance issues.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Verify the print settings on your computer and printer. Ensure that the printer is set to print in high quality if needed and that there are no unnecessary settings that could slow down printing.

Network Settings:

  • Access your modem's settings and check if there are any QoS (Quality of Service) settings that might be affecting the printer’s performance. Ensure that the printer is not being throttled or limited by the modem’s settings.

Printer Driver:

  • Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the HP website to download and install the most recent drivers for your HP OfficeJet 3830.

Print Test Page:

  • Try printing a test page from the printer's control panel. This can help determine if the issue is specific to your computer or if it affects all print jobs.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
