the true culprit here is the graphics card you chose to upgrade to cant use a 400 w it needs tobe upgraded to a 600 or even 650 watt power supply your system is fine its the card has a effecientcy needing more power to be beefed up !!

unlike my counterparts here giving guessing games ..your true culprit is wattage with this simple rule
Always add 50% more wattage whenever adding a beefier graphics card that;s why the card didn't show because your system was running on 400 watts of power....if even adding a 600 watt power supply would compensate for the wattage of the graphics card
