Would I be able to switch my 1650 super graphics card for a rx 7800 xt?

@Sammer2,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

Probably not, since an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB requires at least a 600-watt power supply with 2 x 8-pin PCIe power cables.  Your TG01-2000i is either fitted with a 310, 350, 400 or 500-watt power supply, so the best you can do with a 500-watt power supply (maybe L05757-800*) is an RTX 3060 Ti, [EDIT] which would still double your graphics power compared with a GTX 1650 Super: UserBenchmark: Nvidia GTX 1650S (Super) vs RTX 3060-Ti.

* In order to verify this power supply upgrade option, please type in system information in your Windows search bar, and click on the System Information App.  Please look to the right of "System SKU" and "BaseBoard Product" and provide the (alpha)numerical numbers.

Kind Regards,

Can You change the power supply?

HP Recommended

@Sammer2,

Thank you for the product SKU: that was very helpful indeed.

Yes, changing the power supply is easy enough: three (maybe four) screws situated on the rear/back panel to secure the PSU to the case, and then disconnecting the power cables from the PSU to your motherboard.  The PSU can then slide back a little bit, and you can lift it up and remove/replace it.

Anyway, please take a look at this discussion thread where I worked with an HP Pavilion Gaming TG01-2853no (4A6P1EA) User before: My PSU died, what can i replace it with? - HP Support Community - 8814700.

The part number for a 500-watt power supply upgrade appears to be:  L77487-001.  You can purchase one of these PSUs via eBay-United Kingdom: Genuine HP TE01 TG01 Internal PSU Power Supply 500W L81009-800 | eBay.

If interested, please contact the Seller and provide them with your desktop model number to verify compatibility.

Kind Regards,

But would it be possible to change it to a 600w one?

Also thank you very much for taking your time to answer my questions.

@Sammer2,

There are no 600-watt power supplies for your desktop because of HP's proprietary power supply wiring approach.
